UNITED AIM TO CRUSH ACES AGAIN

Three-times Absa Premiership champions SuperSport United are working very hard at training ahead of their crucial Telkom Knockout last 16 against Mpumalanga Black Aces at Puma Rugby Stadium this coming Sunday.

Kick off is scheduled for 3pm.

Despite winning the league two weeks ago, the Tshwane-based-outfit lost two consecutive matches. The matches were against BIDVest Wits at home and AmaZulu away.

This match on Sunday will be difficult because there must be a result on the day. If the score is level after full-time and extra-time there will be penalties.

Last season Matsatsantsa lost at the same stage against Bloemfontein Celtic after a penalty shootout.

In this recently completed PSL league season, United have a 100% record against Aces after winning the away and the home matches.

The champions crushed Aces 5-0 in October last year in eMalahleni and a 3-0 thrashing at Loftus Stadium in December respectively.

Matsatsantsa will be going into this match without the services of their seven key players such as goalkeeper Emille Baron, defender Bongani Khumalo, Daine Klate ( the trio is currently on national duty in Brazil), Ricardo Katza, David Kannemeyer, Morgan Gould and striker Glen Salmon (all out due to an assortment of injuries).

The first round line-up:

Baron, Khumalo, Mahoa Tsietsi, Klate, Salmon, Laffor Anthony, Nkosi Siyabonga, Ntshumayelo Thandani, Maluleke Jabu, Gould, September Thabo

The second round line-up:

Onyango Denis, Khumalo, Klate, Salmon, Laffor, Kannemeyer, Carelse Brent, Maluleke, Gould, September, Kekana Hlompho
