SuperSport United center-back Grant Kekana stressed that he has been working very hard at training as he wants to travel with the team to his home town for the MTN8 Cup match.

Matsatsantsa will be hosting Free State Stars in the 2012 MTN8 quarterfinal clash at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The match starts at 3pm.

The Limpopo born youngster joined SuperSport from the National First Division (NFD) outfit Tuks two seasons ago and has been a regular member in coach Hunt’s team.

“The preparations for the big match are fine under the supervision of our technical team. The players showed hunger and i think we stand a good chance. I’m satisfied with the way the pre-season program went. The camp in Cape Town was well organized and the results were positive.

We played a few friendlies and that helped us all to be on the right fitness level. We also played two training tournaments and managed to win one in Tzaneen last weekend,” said Kekana.

Matsatsantsa have beefed up their team to challenge for titles in the new season and they will be campaigning on the African continent in the Confederations Cup.

Last season Kekana formed a strong defence with the likes of Davies Nkausu, Langerman, Thabo September, Ricardo Katza (retired) and Morgan Gould who was snatched by Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the season.

“I know we will be fighting for the positions with a mixture of quality players. We have acquired competent team members,” said the under20 defender.

Coach Hunt secured the services of Bevan Fransman, Roscoe Pietersen, Innocent Mdledle, George Maluleka and Clifford Mulenga.

Again, Kekana will be playing infront of his hometown fans and this kind of events will always be special to him.

"I'm always looking forward to it. This is an extra motivation and It really feels good," concluded Kekana.
